35mm Fire Doors

Most fire doors are 44mm thick. If your existing frames were built for 35mm doors — common in older and period properties — a 44mm fire door means altering the frame. Our 35mm fire doors skip that entirely. FD30 certified, pre-finished, ready to hang. VAT included, free mainland UK delivery.

Can a 35mm door be a fire door?

Yes. Our 35mm fire doors are independently tested and certified to FD30 standards — the same BS 476 Part 22 and EN 1634-1 requirements as 44mm fire doors. The Cottage White Prefinished 35mm (£172.00 inc. VAT) and Cottage Oak Prefinished 35mm (£249.00 inc. VAT) both carry full FD30 certification. Different thickness, same fire protection.

Can you get 35mm FD30 fire doors?

Yes. Two styles: Cottage White Prefinished 35mm at £172.00 and Cottage Oak Prefinished 35mm at £249.00. Both pre-finished, both FD30 certified, both ready for 35mm door frames. Check availability on the product pages and add to basket for delivery.

                      Are all fire doors 44mm?

No. Most are, but 35mm fire doors are manufactured for situations where a 44mm door won’t fit the existing frame without alteration. The fire protection is certified to the same FD30 standard — the thickness is different, the rating is not.

What is the difference between a fire door and an interior door?

A standard interior door is 35mm thick with a hollow or lightweight core. It separates rooms, that’s all. A fire door has a solid engineered core, intumescent seals, and fire-rated hardware — tested as a complete assembly to hold back fire and smoke for at least 30 minutes. Our 35mm fire doors deliver that at 35mm.

Do my internal doors need to be fire doors?

Not all of them. Fire doors are legally required in homes with three or more storeys, between a house and an integral garage, in HMOs, and in communal areas of blocks of flats. If your frames are 35mm, our range meets those requirements without any frame alterations. Contact our team if you’re unsure about your property.

How much does a new internal fire door cost?

The Cottage White Prefinished 35mm is £172.00 and the Cottage Oak Prefinished 35mm is £249.00. Both include VAT and free mainland UK delivery.
