Solid panel options come in prefinished white, primed white, prefinished oak, and black. Glazed shaker fire doors have factory-fitted fire-rated glass panels. Many models carry FSC certification for responsibly sourced timber.

                          Manufactured from oak veneer and engineered timber with a solid core, all shaker fire doors are independently tested to BS 476 Part 22 or EN 1634-1. Intumescent seals in the door face and door frames expand under heat to block fire and smoke. Unfinished variants can be painted, stained, or waxed on-site.                           What is a shaker style door?

                          A shaker style door has recessed flat panels set into the door face, framed by horizontal and vertical rails. The design comes from the 19th-century Shaker furniture tradition: practical, honest, nothing added for decoration alone. That restraint is why it still works in modern kitchens, hallways, and commercial settings. Shaker fire doors apply the same layout to FD30-rated construction.

                          What is the new law on fire doors in the UK?

                          The Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 require regular checks of communal fire doors in multi-occupied residential buildings with two or more storeys. Building owners and managers are responsible. That’s on top of the existing rules in Approved Document B, which sets out where fire doors must be fitted in domestic properties.                           Is BS 8214 still valid?

                          Yes. BS 8214 is the current UK standard for installing and maintaining timber fire doors. It specifies gap tolerances, the ironmongery required, and where self-closing devices are mandatory. Every shaker fire door must be fitted in line with BS 8214 — fire-rated hinges, a certified latch, correct intumescent seals — or the FD30 rating doesn’t hold. The door frames and the complete assembly must perform as tested.
